Over the river and through the woods...

...to Grandmother's house we go!

We had a fun time in MP this weekend with David's family. Brooke was interested in everything this time! She enjoyed playing on this quilt with her toys. Saturday morning we went to cousin CJ's football game. He is number 12. Brooke wore her Astro's cheerleading outfit because it was black and white like CJ's team. CJ is very sweet to Brooke. It was pretty sunny, so Daddy let Brooke wear his new hat. David's friend Bert was also at the game with his new baby Max. Here are the guys with the babies. It's weird to actually see someone taller than David!
Saturday evening we went to the Hart's Bluff Fall Festival. Brooke modeled her pumpkin costume and her giraffe costume. The giraffe won. She was sooo cute!
I found a good use for one of her many bows. Giraffes have hair even if babies don't!Brooke won a cake on the cake walk at the festival. She picked some yummy brownies. If you look very closely you can see her cake walking with Aunt Diana. She also won a stuffed green octopus in the animal walk.We also played several rounds of Bingo, unsuccessfully.
Brooke helped Mommy listen for Bingo numbers. David's grandmother was sitting at the next table. We noticed she hadn't paid her $2 for this round of Bingo. She said if she won, then she'd pay the $2. Silly Nannie!
Sunday, we went to church with David's mom. Brooke was pretty restless, so I ended up missing most of the sermon. We went back to the house and enjoyed some chicken spaghetti with the family. We went to cousin Dylan's birthday party at the skating rink in the afternoon. We only stayed for a few minutes because we were packed up to go and the dog was in the car. We parked under a shade tree, and as we left we heard a very loud noise. Somehow a large stick lodged itself in the wheel. David's brother-in-law Richard yanked it out with his bare hands!Once we had the stick out of the wheel, it was a pretty quick trip home. Brooke slept the whole way. We made it home just in time for evening service at church, and we finished out the night with a couple episodes from Season 1 of Friday Night Lights. We love the drama.
