Father's Day

I want to dedicate this post to two very special dads in my life.

To Dad
When God chose for me to have H. R. Greenlees for a father, I won the dad lottery. I KNOW that I have the best dad I could have ever hoped for. Dad, you have taught me so much about life through your example of unbelievable selflessness, perseverance, and optimism. You have always made me feel special, that I can do anything I dream of doing. While some men may be afraid to share their feelings, you have never had a shortage of uplifting, encouraging words and lots of "I love you"s. You may never know how important that is to me. Thanks for always being there for me. We's like peas and carrots.
Love always,
Sugar a.k.a. Kimber a.k.a Your Brown-Eyed Girl
Really I won the double lottery because I got the absolute best mom too! I know I am a great mom because I can copy her. My parents still love each other very much and have set an awesome example of marriage and parenting for me. Dad and Mom, I am so grateful for every minute with you. I love you!

It didn't take long for me to know that you had a gentle and giving Christian heart, and that you would make a wonderful husband and father. I remember continually being impressed by each new thing I learned about you as we were dating. I started wondering how you could have possibly made it this far without already being married. You met and surpassed every criteria on my "wish list" for a husband. Then I knew it was because you were the person God made for me. I am so blessed to be married to you. And just when I didn't think I could love you any bigger, you became a father and my love for you kept growing. I am certain that Brooke will grow up a Daddy's girl just like I am. She will look back one day and tell you how much of who she is-is because of you. I look forward to growing closer to you through the years. I love you!
Love always,
Kim

Last Birthday Post...promise!

Brooke's 1st Birthday Extravaganza began with Strollerskating with Daddy & Mommy, lunch at Olive Garden, and a trip to Toys R Us. The celebration continued into the weekend in Mount Pleasant where a double first birthday party was scheduled for Brooke and her cousin KayeLeigh. Brooke ate up all the attention. I'll let the pictures do most of the talking. I think Brooke will start wondering where her cake is every day now.

Guess I have to change my ticker...

I am feeling a little sad as my precious little baby embarks on her first birthday tomorrow. Time has flown by soo fast.  I have loved every minute of being this sweet angel's mommy. I can't believe how she has grown in a year. Every day she does something new. I am so thankful for the time I have with her as a baby, and I look forward to watching her grow (not too fast though!). Here are a few pictures of what our little monkey has been into this week.

Celebrate Good Times

Mother's Day was really special. My parents and Kelly drove to spend the weekend with us. Dad and David spent most of the weekend fixing things around the house, which I think was fine with them. The rest of us just relaxed and did a little decorating. Sunday after church we enjoyed a brunch in honor of the Moms. I got some pretty awesome gifts and some sweet cards. I really enjoyed spending my first Mother's Day with my family!

Saturday afternoon we celebrated with an early birthday party for Brooke. She enjoyed a few big bites of birthday cake, then had fun dumping the rest on the floor. She loves being the center of attention!
In my birthday dress!
Brooke was mostly interested in this envelope. She cried when we tried to take it away to focus on her presents.
Time for birthday cake!

A Happy Easter

We headed to "the Braunf" on Friday to spend Easter weekend with my family. We mostly relaxed and enjoyed quality time with the fam. Sunday was really nice with a great morning service. One of my favorite things about Easter service at my home church is placing flowers on the cross in honor of the Resurrection. Brooke helped me place flowers on the cross this time.
After church, we had a yummy brunch at the hospital of all places! When we got home, we hid eggs all over the back yard and invited the neighbor boys to come find them. (Kendra had to leave after church, so she couldn't hunt, and Brooke doesn't get the egg thing yet.) It was a really wonderful time!
NOTE: Brooke did have a bow in her "hair", but by the time we brought the camera out she wanted no part of the bow.

KIMPALOOZA 2008

So my birthday is kind of a big deal...

...to my family.
They are so awesome.
Dad, Mom, my sister Summer and her kids Felix & Kendra, and my sister Kelly all rented a big van and drove up to stay the weekend with us in Grapevine at the Embassy Suites. It was great except for a big bummer...Summer woke up Sunday morning with a swollen throat and a fever. She spent most of the weekend crashed out in the room or asleep in the car. I didn't get any pictures of her, but she was there.

Felix's birthday was a week before mine so we celebrated with him too. After spending some time in the Bass Pro shop that is connected to the hotel, we enjoyed a really nice dinner at the restaurant that is also connected to the hotel. When the waiter asked Felix if he wanted a half or full order of ribs he said full, so the waiter brought this out...
and we all enjoyed a little bit of it, even Miss Priss.
We spent the rest of the evening chatting and enjoying each other's company. Dad even let us order two slices of triple chocolate cake up to the room. Brooke loved all the attention.

A spoon and a chair, what else do I need?

worn out.
Breakfast the next morning was fabulous. We must have stayed down there for a couple of hours. Kendra especially enjoyed the balloon making clown and the face painter.
Yes, that is a pink lizard princess.
Brooke got her nap in on Daddy's chest, still her favorite spot.
My Aunt Beth joined us for breakfast. So sweet of her!
Being silly in the bathroom...
We ended the weekend with a trip to Grapevine Mills Mall. David took a pic of us in front of the Rainforest Cafe. Summer was konked out in the car, bless her heart.
My actual birthday (Tuesday) was really nice too. It actually snowed! David made dinner, cleaned up the kitchen, and bought me a video camera! I received many cards, phone calls, & gifts. I'm feeling pretty loved right now...
