Pumpkins, Pumpkins Everywhere!

We are definitely seeing orange around here, and it's not even Halloween yet! The girls are certainly getting good use out of their costumes and orange outfits. This week we attended our second and third pumpkin patch of the season, two petting zoos, one Halloween party, and one dressed up small group study. It has been a very fun week, but Brooke is so over wearing her
butterfly wings. As for the other little bugs, Claire is the bumblebee and Keely is the ladybug.

Baby Blessing Sunday

Sunday morning, our church took time to pray over all the new babies. It was a special day for Claire and Keely. We were reminded of what blessings we have been given, and our responsibility to them, to raise them to know Jesus and to love others.

Meet the newest member of our family

Brooke picked out this cutie at Build-a-Bear, and Grammy was so sweet to get it for her. The whole stuffing process proved frightening for her...she thought the bear was "too hot" to hold after it was stuffed. She did put a heart (that beats) in the bear, and soon warmed up to Bluebell. The two have been constant companions all weekend.

Thank you Grammy! I love you!

Marking 5 Months

Keely and Claire are growing so fast and as you saw in my last post, baby-babbling like crazy.
They are happy and healthy, not much else to report other than we are thankful that they are so happy and healthy.
It is getting pretty easy for me to tell them apart, but I do spend just about every waking hour with them. Keely continues to be the more outgoing, more physically active, more verbal of the two. Claire loves blowing raspberries and cuddling with Mommy. They both sleep very well at night, usually a good 12 hours. I am especially thankful for my sleep these days; you learn to appreciate some things when you have had to do without them.

Check it out! We are five months old today.
Aren't we sweet?
These adorable little outfits came all the way from Washington DC! Mom bought them for the girls when she was on her business trip last weekend. Thanks Grammy!

All About Brooke

I want to be sure to remember some of the cute things Brooke has been saying and doing lately. She is at such a fun age.

The Princess
*Brooke is a beautiful princess, and she will let you know it.
*She often addresses me as "Princess Mommy".
*Brooke to baby sisters: "Hi there beautiful princess baby!"
*Any day off from school or church will be filled with dress-up gowns and crowns, complete with a set of "princess shoes".

Dinner and Bedtime Prayers
When he is home in time, David is in charge of getting Brooke bathed, teeth brushed, pajamas on, book, prayer, and tucking in our big girl. After 2+ years Brooke has developed her own little prayer that she likes to say by herself.
Brooke (the way she says it phonetically): "Dear God, Fank you for Mommy and Daddy and ALL the baby sisters. Fank you for Miss-a-Shelle (Mrs. Michelle) and Ava and all my friends. And Grandma and Grammy and Grandpa and Kelly and Aunt Danana (Diana), Caca (Uncle) Dodo, and Baby Wavery (Avery), CJ, and Sissy and Red (family dogs), and everyone we love (insert several more names here). Fank you for Jesus. Amen."

Music
This girl loves to sing, make music and listen to songs. I'll be that mom and say my daughter has a real gift when it comes to music. The other day on the way to school I sang her, Mary Had a Little Lamb one time. The next evening, she was singing it word for word. She has also memorized all The verses from Jesus Loves Me from listening to her bedtime CD. She hums melodies, and can find rhythm in a beat. I think there will be a dance or music class in her future.

Sports
She has really expressed an interest in sports. She loves to play ball. She asks to go to baseball games often, and loves watching Daddy coach. She even watches the Rangers on TV!

Independent Woman
Brooke has always been independent, but the two year-old in her has really highlighted this trait. For the most part I am thankful she is independent, minus the consistent string of "No"s.

We love our little angel so much. I am really enjoying getting to know the child she is becoming.

Balloons for Chase

Please join me in praying for the Jacobs family, whose baby son was born into Jesus' arms.

Their daughter Abby Kate is in Brooke's Bible Class at church, and her sweet mommy Chelsea was Brooke's Bible Class teacher. They are such a wonderful and sweet family.

In memory of baby Chase Allen Jacobs, we sent some balloons to Heaven today.

You can go here to read his story.

I Think We're Related

I am seeing more and more similarities between Brooke and the babies as they get older. I snapped some pictures of Claire and Keely for the baby blessing at church and it prompted me to pull up Brooke's baby blessing picture. Since they're all May babies, it is easy to compare. But I guess as a mom I lack some perspective.

Do you think they are look-alikes? Who does each kid favor?
