Like a Rock Star

I don't know if you have to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse to think this is funny, but David and I can watch this video over and over and still laugh.

So that's where she gets it!

When my parents and sis were in town a couple weeks ago we just couldn't help ourselves. Here we are with the Mac and just a little too much time on our hands.

What?

MOST of the thoughtless and rude comments I have received over the past couple of years have been during my pregnancy. I know fellow mommies hear me on that one. Rarely now am I offended by what people say (because it's 90% positive about my adorable baby). Today I just had to laugh.

I set out to buy a new phone charger from our cell phone place, and the guy working there says to me, "It must be pretty good exercise carrying that thing around all day". What? By that thing I had to assume he meant my baby because I was carrying nothing else at the time besides my wallet, which would cause no strain I assure you. He goes on to ask me if he (my daughter dressed in PINK) is talking yet. *Sigh*
The truth is I was glad he was making an effort to have a conversation. He did say these things with a smile, and I think I would rather encounter friendly (if misguided) employees than unfriendly ones. Still, I have to wonder about this poor guy.

Chompers

Don't let this sweet face fool you...
Raaarr!
She will attack when you least expect it! I nearly lost a fingertip today while shopping. I seriously almost yelled out loud when Miss Priss bit me! Of course she doesn't realize what she is doing hurts me, but I will certainly be more careful around those chompers.

Funny Face

We decided to head to MP this past week since it was Spring Break. David enjoyed all the relaxation that comes with being at home with his mom and her great cooking. Diana and Richard treated us to dinner Wednesday night, which was really nice. One night after dinner Brooke decided to put on a little show...

Beep Beep Beep

"Who, me?"

It is apparent that our baby has inherited her parents' sense of humor. Besides being a pretty happy-go-lucky kind of girl, she has some extra silliness to her.

For example, her favorite time to go exploring is the second I take off her diaper. She despises sitting still for a diaper change and must turn over to crawl somewhere away from me. Here she is caught in action. Notice how I captured the trail of diaper and clothes in the picture.
On the rare occasion that she is fussy for no obvious reason, the only song that will calm her is "The Wheels on the Bus". It is pretty hilarious. She'll stop screaming and immediately smile while I sing this song to her. No other song gets this kind of result. In fact, I've had to make up several more verses to the song to keep it interesting..."The cats on the bus say 'Meow, meow, meow...'" I doubt any cat on a bus would be that calm. Perhaps we have a future bus driver in the making.

Her favorite game right now is pulling an object off a shelf/coffee table/couch and seeing how loud it hits the floor. And forget toys, her favorite play item which doubles as a chew toy is the remote control. We have put a couple dud remotes in her toy box. She also likes to squeal or scream and flail her arms when people come over. Pretty silly and pretty cute.

She also snorts when she laughs.

We are relieved to know she has a good sense of humor. What would we do with a serious child?

Chillin' With Grammy & Grandpa Hub

We met my parents in Waxahachie this weekend for the Texas Country Reporter Festival. The weather was beautiful, the downtown was charming, the booths were fun and interesting, but there were wayyyy too many people there! I think it was an unexpected turnout. We actually ended up leaving early to get some Whataburger and we headed on to our hotel my mom had reserved in Hillsboro. That's really where the fun started. We just spent the day together hanging out and talking in the room. I really miss spending time with Mom and Dad like that.

Brooke unexpectedly hit another milestone in front of her grandparents. She rolled over from back to tummy. Mom took a nap with Brooke and even let me get a nap in too while they watched her.

I am so blessed to have such wonderful parents. I often wish we lived closer to them.

Anyway to totally and completely switch subjects, our computer died last Tuesday. Since then, we have been shopping around for a new one. We ended up buying a Mac. It is pretty awesome. One feature is the built in webcam that has special effects. Here are a few silly poses we created just in time for Halloween...

We are so easily entertained.
