Camera Shy?

I've been trying to take the girls' picture by their bears once a month.
Yesterday, it wasn't happening, not the calm way.

Here is Take 1
Keely & Claire, 2 months old
Ok, let's take a break, wardrobe change, come back later...
Take 2
Keely's at it again.
Finally "paci"-fied and is this really the best one?

Beating the Heat

We recently invited our friends the Nelsons over for pizza and poolside fun. Their baby Caleb is about a month younger than the twins. Keely and Claire seemed quite enormous next to Caleb. Brooke and Grace had tons of fun in the pool in the back yard.

Chunky Monkeys

These girls are growing like crazy! I took them in for their two month check up and WOW! They have really gotten big... and fast!

Claire is 10 lbs 9 oz, 22 in long, 15 in head

Keely is 10 lbs 12 oz, 22 in long, 15 in head

They went from the 3rd percentile in weight to the 50th percentile in one month. We're proud of our growing girls.
Other twin news: Claire rolled over from front to back on Friday, July 10th. She likes to show off her skills. I'm pretty sure Keely has also rolled over front to back but she's sneaky about it because she does it during tummy time in her pack n' play when I'm not looking.
They are also both smiling, which makes all of their frequent fussiness much more bearable.

Happy 4th!

We had a fun and easy 4th of July. We spent most of the day at home enjoying our time together at home with the exception of a trip to the mall. It was really hot outside, but it cooled to the upper nineties that night so we decided to get out to see some fireworks. Austin and Ginny are spending the week with other family so it was just the five of us.

Waiting...

We thought we'd staked out the perfect spot to watch fireworks...far enough away to not scare the kids, but close enough to see them--or so we thought. We figured the other people in the parking lot knew what they were doing. Once the show started we became aware that the fireworks were blocked by a big line of trees. We could barely make out the colors of the fireworks through the trees. We decided to drive to another spot and view the show from the road, and as we were getting in the car, Brooke was protesting, "I want sparkle trees!"
We were able to see the fireworks better from the new spot and this time Brooke was calling them her birthday cake. Silly girl.
